New Streetscape and Open Space Projects for the City of Wilson

In late May Allison Platt & Associates had the opportunity to work for the City of Wilson to assist with efforts already underway to upgrade the streetscape between the Vollis Simpson Whirligig Park and Nash Street, Wilson's "Main Street."  The Whirligig Park will be a major new tourist destination for the city, and an attractive historic warehouse across from the Whirligig Park is currently under renovation to provide more than 200 apartments to the City.  New shade trees, attractive sidewalks, and benches will encourage people to walk between the two destinations and encourage new businesses to locate along this street (see more HERE).   We also assisted the City with the redesign of the Arts Plaza adjacent to Goldboro Street and next to the Arts Council building (see HERE).
